2004
The Invention of 5-Hour ENERGY®
Manoj Bhargava created a 2oz energy shot. An American-made “energy shot” that gains significant popularity for its convenience and effectiveness. The company produces one million bottles a day.
2007
Rural India Supporting Trust Founded
RIST was born from a simple idea – serve the less privileged. We believe that access is a right for everyone, not a privilege for a few. We work with value aligned publicly supported organizations to realize our vision of creating an equitable India which provides a physically and mentally healthy environment for all.
2009
The Hans Foundation
Co-founded by Ms. Shweta Rawat and Manoj Bhargava. One of India’s largest charitable endowments and has funded hundreds of Indian not-for-profit organizations catering specifically to the needs of underprivileged populations.
2010
The Obvious Factory
Started an invention shop called The Obvious Factory to tackle some of the biggest problems in the world.
- Modular devices to clean water (including brackish water). This will solve one of the biggest problems facing humanity in the future. Done
- A medical therapy that in some cases has reversed or stopped Alzheimer’s. Done
- An emission free battery that will last 100 years.

2011
Billions in Change Initiative Formed
Focused on developing and delivering inventions to help the unlucky half of the world such as electricity, clean water, and effective healthcare. The initiative also includes The Obvious Factory, an invention workshop aimed at creating practical tools to address pressing problems.
2015
MBX Group Formed
MBX Group is a family office that manages investments for Manoj Bhargava, with over $5 billion in capital resources under management. It is a long-term investor that uses private capital from financial services, media, healthcare, clean water and consumer products.
2020
Trading Group added to Portfolio
MBX Group launched a trading branch of the family office that allowed us to reduce risk within our portfolio with the goal of “better than market returns with almost no risk”
2023
MBX Clearing Launched
An options trading group that is an SEC registered Broker-Dealer and Self-Clearing member of the Options Clearing Corporation. We utilize options for risk reduction which is our primary goal.
2024
MBX Hedge Funds Launched
The performance of MBX Clearing gave us the confidence to enable others to beat the market.
